1945 The Battle for Berlin in Color RE-MASTERIZED

Berlin, April 1945. The "Mongol Hordes", as Josef Goebbels quoted the invading Red Army, enter Berlin. Street after street, house after house, hard close combat scenes of death and destruction are shown. At 04:17 there is a shot of a "secret weapon" of WW2 rarely seen on film, the Russian anti-tank rifle PTRS 41. Near the end of the video we can watch almost unedited shots of a column of German Volksturm prisoners, marching on the streets of Berlin, beated by Russians and Polish soldiers. Polish troops, trained in the USSR, fought arm to arm with Soviets and entered along with them in Berlin. For example 1st Infantry Division of 1st Army. They were fighting under the command of Soviet 47th army. Among the people beating the German prisoners, ex inmates of the German concentration camps, liberated by the millions. Many of them were looting around, killing and raping German civilians in revenge, sometimes togheter with the Russians soldiers. "Jew Commissaries", nominated by the Soviets (the ones we see in the film with white armbands), were supposed to control the situation...
