Mercury is taken by Raw in the draft, he and Morrison win the Tag championships from then champions The Hart Dynasty, they immediately lose the titles and then face each other for the U.S title at Fatal Four Way where Mercury is victorious, he holds the title and then also wins the Money in the Bank and cashes in at Night of Champions to spoil The Miz's second world title win against Randy Orton and steals the title from the Miz after a very long match making Mercury a world champion for the first time.
